GED Mathematics and GED Writing Skills

GED Mathematics
Course Description: The objective of the class will be to enable
students to pass this section of the GED. Class will begin each day
with drill followed by instruction and classwork. Quizzes and tests
will be used to apprise students of their progress.
Course Topics: The following will be covered: problem
solving, decimals, fractions, ratio and proportion, percents, algebra,
geometry, and special topics.
Textbook: The following GED Mathematics books will be
used: SteckVaughn, Contemporary’s Cambridge. Both texts and workbooks
will be used.
Subject: GED Writing Skills
Course Description: The objective of the class will be to enable
students to pass this section of the GED. Class will begin each day
with drill followed by instruction and classwork. Quizzes and tests
will be used to apprise students of their progress. In addition,
students will be making entries in their daily journal.
Course Topics: The following will be covered: Mechanics,
Usage, Sentence Structure, and the Essay.
Textbook: The following GED Writing Skill books will be
used: SteckVaughn, Contemporary’s. Both texts and workbooks will
be used.
All Classes
Notebook: Each student needs a math section in their notebook.
This section should have 3 parts: drills, classwork, and homework.
Class Rules:
1. Arrive on time.
2. Bring notebook and pencil.
3. Respect the rights of others.
4. Complete all assignments.
Coach Class: Thursday at 3:05 or a mutually convenient
time.
Evaluation: As mentioned before quizzes and unit tests
will be given. Before taking the GED, each student will complete
a post-test on the math section.
Comments: ATTEND REGULARLY AND STUDY AND YOU WILL BE
SUCCESSFUL !! STUDENTS WHO DO THIS PASS THE GED AND GET THEIR DIPLOMA !!
